  • Back in 1999 we made an attempt to start a local
    racing organization called the Mid Atlantic Street
    Racing Association, or the MASRA for short. We
    put together three classes, including Drag Radial,
    which basically followed the rules of the then NMCA
    Cheap Street, and then came Real Street which
    was a 10" tire stock suspension class. To round out
    the classes came the Killah Street class, which was
    the grandaddy of classes which was retty much run
    what cha brung, and hope you brought enough. I
    worked out a deal with Bill Wilcom at 75/80 where
    we would run the Killah Street class at his track on
    a Saturday in November just to see what kind of
    cars show up, and to get a taste of what the next
    season may bring. From my foggy memory, I
    believe we had 8 cars show up, including big tire
    cars, as well a some small tire cars, and a tan Dart
    from New York that is still making the races locally.
